Stradivarius

Super Ariston #765 is one of 26 Super Aristons built in 1966, a period that many consider the apex of production period of Cantieri Riva, and was delivered to the actor Peter Sellers in Monaco in 1967 with the name BlueBottle II. The Super was the top model in the Ariston Series and differed from the Normale Ariston with a more powerful Riva/Crusader 320 HP (GM 427 CID) which makes the boat more responsive and increases the top speed to 80 km/h (50mph). A larger fuel tank was mounted and the boat’s length was increased by 6 inches giving it a sleeker bow profile.

A previous owner purchased the boat in 2008 in need of a total restoration, and entrusted that work to the famous Riva restoration facility, RAM, in Sarnico Italy. From 2008 to 2010 the comprehensive restoration was undertaken. The major work included new hull sides, transom, margin boards, dashboard, seats, decks, bottom panels, repair/replacement of internal hull structures, complete re-chroming of all hardware, new upholstery, flooring, cabriolet, engine room painting, bottom and waterline painting, complete engine & transmission overhaul, engine gauges and electrical accessories overhaul, 18 coats of varnish.

In 2016 the following maintenance work was performed: Recoat of 8 coats of varnish, renew antifouling paint, bilge cleaning and repainting, service & tune motor. The boat was then put in storage and remained unused from 2018 to 2021.

Since it’s import to Canada in 2021, Stradivarius has been used for  approximately 20 hours. Engine hours are believed to be less than 100 since RAM restoration.

Stradivarius is truly a Turn Key Riva, in fine condition and is available for immediate fun on the water, and display as a Riva showpiece.
