1976 MONTE-CARLO OFFSHORER SUPERFAST 27′
This Superfast is #19 out of 39 built as a 27′ model. Combining the masterful design and engineering work of Ing. Carlo Riva, Cal Connell, Ray Hunt and Bob Hobs, the Monte-Carlo Offshore 27 has a most innovative deep vee hull, in that it combines double hull steps with longitudinal lifting strakes and a hard chine. This makes for a very fast, but quite stable and comfortable ride. This, in concert with Carlo Riva’s commitment to providing the best quality and proven styling, gives the user a unique category of runabout/speedboat.
While retaining a similar forward cockpit and an aft sun deck layout to the famous Riva Aquarama and 31′ St. Tropez, the MC Offshorer also has many novelties. The first of these novelties, is the unusual engine arrangement. The two Monaco Power engines are mounted on centerline, forward and aft – one ahead of the other, with a Crusader Marine designed drive system. This allows for a lower overall center of gravity.
Further, the boat has a fully instrumented center mounted helm station allowing the operator to be able to stand up or be seated while at the controls, molded semi wraparound passenger seating – both in the forward cockpit and at the head of the sun deck, and a hinged swim ladder that is incorporated into the transom.
The cuddy cabin is well appointed in turquoise & ivory, including the vee berth for 2 with fabric covered mattresses. An accordion door gives the cabin privacy, while the large round deck mounted portlight gives natural light and ventilation as required.
Additionally in the forward cockpit, there are 2 corner bars with ice boxes, and ample storage for water sports or dive equipment.
A deck hatch on the foredeck provides easy access to a Danforth anchor stowed in a cradle.
